Thanks for setting up this Web Board. I'm using both Cimco Edit 5 and NC Plot. Are direct comparisons between features I like and don't like in Cimco Edit 5 and NC Plot allowed ? If this type of discussion is allowed what forum should I post to ?

Hey Jon,

Post away... Just start a new topic.

I can add whatever forums I need. If you have suggestions for new forums just let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,
Andy Gruber here. May not get that from the handle.

Long time no talk man.

Glad to see your still at it.

I am ready to start writing some macros for our swiss machines so I thought I would check out the latest version of NCplot.

I am only like six versions behind!

Anyway I will be posting some threads in the macro area soon.

I am going to see if I can draw some attention to them from other cnc sights too. I would love to get a macro group together.

See ya,
Guest

Andy! Yes, it has been a while....

So, how are you? Keeping busy?

You can see what I've been doing! NCPlot has been keeping me busy (out of trouble, as they say). Feel free to post whatever macros you can, that's why I created the forum. I would like to expand on the macros and program samples that are included with NCPlot, so I'm hoping I can get some help from generous users like yourself.

Anyway, talk to you soon.

generate a dxf file from G code

Postby Guest » Fri May 19, 2006 6:06 am

Hi folks,

I am looking for a way to generate a dxf file from G code I created.
I was told to Google NCPLOT.

I am running XP and am confused about what I need to do to use ncplot.

Can you help me out?

Thanks,
Troy

Troy,

After you install NCPlot, use it to load the G-Code file you want to create a DXF file from. Once you load the file, you should get a backplot of the program.

Once you get a plot of the program, just go to File | Export as DXF and specify the file name to save as.

That's it... If you are having trouble, just let me know where you are getting stuck and I will try to help you out.

Regards,
Scott
